Dawn Crowe is the Director of Indigo Design. Designing and managing a wide variety of projects, she has run Indigo Design since 1992. She has worked in Glasgow, London and Canada and has over 20 years of experience as a Graphic Designer. Projects undertaken have varied extensively from the branding of various Leaflet and Poster series for NHS Scotland, to producing the Graphics for Television programmes such as BAFTA award-winning Balamory and Me Too!
Dawn won the Brand Paper Scotland Design & Print Awards for Best Poster Design with her poster for Into the Woods. This poster was commissioned by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama for an opera production.
Following on from this success, in 2007 a Leaflet by Dawn Crowe won first prize and highly commended in the 'Patient Information Awards' (Young People) category at the BMA (British Medical Association). This was a Leaflet for NHS Scotland, Confidentiality Your Rights.
In 2009 one of Indigo's leaflet designs won the 'Highly Commended' certificate in the BMA Patient Information Awards. The panel of judges said: "A clearly and attractively produced booklet pitched well at its target audience with good signposting. In terms of clear information-giving it is very good."
She has taught Graphic Design at Glasgow Metropolitan College since 1991 and also lectures to private organisations.
What inspired Dawn to become a Graphic Designer?
Initially Dawn studied a Combined Hons Degree in English and History at the University of Southampton and then went on to do an HND in Graphic Design at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design. Since then, her love for the creative process of conveying specific messages, ideas or concepts through words and images has grown.
Dawn lives in Glasgow with her husband, son and two cats.
